20" iMac G5 Unwrapping Photos!

Apple created quite the computer with their latest iMac G5. A 64 bit, UNIX powered home workstation, er, I mean computer. This baby is the center of my computing corner. Picked it up yesterday and I'm totally loving this machine! Without further ado, here are pictures of my brand new Mac!

The box was slightly beat up but not too horribly. At least the contents arrived safe!
Even the iMac box looks cool

Getting ready to dive inside.
I know you're in there somewhere. The keyboard is inserted top-down, just to give you an idea of the thickness of the styrofoam.
There you are! Looks like you arrived safely.
Plopped on the old desk. This desk left today for greener pastures. However I still need to get all my data off my laptop. The computers can work while I head out to IKEA for new furniture.
Closeup of the Motorola / IBM CPU club. :-)
Guess I can't even unwrap the computer unless I agree to some kind of shrink wrap agreement.
Oh la la! A nekked iMac G5.
Just another peek.
Got the keyboard & mouse all connected.
Woohoo! The screen works!
Your flight to OS X is nearly complete.
OK, let's dive right into the realm of OS X! ...
... But first, let's get all that cool stuff off the ole laptop. This is Apple's new data migration tool. I gotta say it was pretty slick, even if it does have a step 3. :-)
Just in case you forgot, here's how to set your Apple into Firewire target mode.
Looky Looky! I see another Apple close by!
What would you like to transfer today?
Still calculating. It takes the wizard a few minutes to figure out how many GBs are ready for transport.
Finally, kibbles -n- bits -n- bits -n- bits flowing.
Houston, give us a trajectory.
8 hours and 28 minutes remaining?!?!? Guess it's time to head to IKEA. :-) In reality it didn't take anywhere near 8.5 hours. I'm not sure how long it took (I was at IKEA, remember?) but it was done when I finally got home 3 hours later.
All done! Finally! Now I get to actually fool around with my new iMac.
Restarting again.
The computers in their new home. Thanks IKEA, this is great!
The 20" screen is absolutely mammoth! Shown here with my Aluminium PowerBook G4 15.2" for size comparison.
Another shot of my computers' new home. On the left is my 15" bass cabinet and on the right (on the floor) is my now deposed PC.
The coolest part about my new station is it doesn't have to look like a computer station when I'm not working there. :-)
Another shot since I can't believe I put it together and it's still standing! Go me! :-D
